Oil & Gas

Oil and gas remain key fossil fuels. Found across the planet in some of the harshest environments, they are still being discovered, with exploration and the exploitation of new finds demanding complex engineering solutions.

Once extracted and shipped, oil and gas are used around the globe as an energy source for electricity generation, a heat source for domestic and commercial buildings, and as a resource for industry, used both as a raw material and as a source of heat across a range of manufacturing processes.

Oil requires shipping and refining, in order to provide a myriad of extracted raw materials for industry, as well as the familiar petrol, diesel and fuel oil.

Raw natural gas requires cleaning in massive natural gas processing plants, before shipping as dry gas. Once piped to users, it again requires complex processing equipment, in order to enable it to be used in industrial processes, or for it to be harnessed in power plants.
